Full Length Jewel Case CD
28 tracks of adventure and fantasy.
This film premiered 24th of November 2008 in Germany. The soundtrack is therefor very fresh and is not availible at many places. Der Seawolf is a Jack London story which has been filmed a lot: mini series and films. This is Tv film is even closer to the novel than the ZDF production, since they (back in 1971) mixed up different Jack London stories and themes.
Maybe this film is good and maybe not. It does not really matter. What do matter is the very interesting music composed by Marcel Barsotti whom have made german soundtracks since 1995. He has been very active and written scores to no less than 40 films. Itīs easy to understand why Barsotti is hired. He sounds a little like Badelt and Zimmer (fellow Germans) but with his own touch. The music on this album is not really loud but more gentle even though itīs very dark, action packed and easy to see being made for a fantasy film. Just like Hans Zimmer do Barsotti like the brass sound a lot. Barsotti have since 2005 won no less than five awards for his music in Germany. Barsotti is also famous for his sample series known as the "Ethno World". Some cues on this album sounds a little bit like Erdenstern and others more like Zimmer, Badelt and Elfman. But in the midst of sounding like other composers and bands Barsotti found his own sound. This album is very good music to play in the background during roleplay games but also of course getting the right mood for adventure and fantasy journeys within.
